The Chairman of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission, LGSC, Hon.(Dcn) Joseph Otirhue has promised to continually support the affairs of the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN) Delta State Chapter.
The Chairman made this promise when the newly elected executive members of the Association paid a courtesy visit to the Commission in Asaba.
While receiving the group, Otirhue congratulated them for emerging as leaders of the Association. He said that, members of the Association saw their capabilities hence they were elected to take the mantle of leadership of the Association.
Speaking further, the Commission Boss advised the new Executive not to betray the trust and confidence reposed in them.
While commending them for conducting a free and fair election, he told them that the task of leadership is not an easy one, but God who gave them the opportunity to lead will bestow on them the wisdom, strength and knowledge to pilot the affairs of the Association.
Furthermore, Otirhue said the Commission will look into the issues raised by the Association as they are vital to the system.
Earlier, the State President of the Association, Sanitarian Osugba Precious, said they visited the Commission to present and introduce the new Executive of the Association to the Commission and also to seek for continuous support in order to deepen the existing synergy for the greater good of the people.
He said,they deemed it fit to present themselves to the Commission as the Chairman is a father figure who has been supportive of the Association in time past.
Osugba said they wished to continue to collaborate with the Commission as they believed a stronger collaboration will lead to improved environmental sanitation, disease prevention and healthier communities across the State.
While expressing their gratitude to the Commission for the warm reception, the President highlighted some of the challenges faced by the Association and also sought the Commission’s support for the 2025 World Environmental Health Day coming up on the 26th of September 2025.
