Otirhue Admonishes The Unified LG Staff To Be More Committed To Their Job

The Chairman of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon.(Dcn) Joseph Otirhue, has advised staff of the Unified Local Government Service to be more efficient and committed to their duties.

The Chairman gave the advice during the July series promotion interview held at the Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat in Asaba.

While admonishing the staff, he frowned at the lackadaisical attitude most staff have towards their duties and cautioned that the Commission would no longer tolerate any form of indiscipline.
He encouraged them to always be present at their duty post and take their work seriously as they are been paid monthly for this purpose. He noted that a lot of applicants are out there looking for an opportunity to work, therefore they should guard their jobs tenaciously.
Otirhue warned staff who came for the interview to always be prepared and up and doing in whatever they do especially as it concerns the promotion interview adding that unprepared staff will henceforth be disqualified and penalized.

He added that henceforth, staff invited for promotion interview will be made to undergo written and oral interview, this he said will enable staff to be more committed and not take the leniency of the Commission for granted.
He also said, the written/oral interview will help enhance the productivity and efficiency of the staff, thereby making the Local Government Service more admirable and presentable to the public.
He advised that staff should upgrade and make themselves viable, so that when they retire they will be able to face the challenges of the society and also be able to work in other sectors to add value to the public service .
Furthermore, Otirhue enjoined all staff to improve on their dressing and always look professional as good dress sense boosts one’s confidence and sell one out positively to the public.
While commending staff who were properly dressed for the promotion exercise, he however frowned at those who were poorly dressed, sending them out of the venue to ensure they were properly dressed before they were attended to.
During the promotion exercise, certificates and professional documents of staff were thoroughly scrutinized.T

hose whose documents were up to date were promoted while defaulters were denied their promotions.
