
Nigerians have been urged to avoid anger, resentment and unforgiving spirit but be quick in resolving dispute among themselves which will promote peace and coexistence and save huge resources that will be use for development.
The Executive Chairman to Patani Council Area, Hon. Isaac Aguanah made this appeal during this year armed forces remembrance day celebration at Patani.
Hon. Aguanah said people should maintain peace through constitutional acceptable process which will make room for peace and stability.
While affirming that Nigeria strength lies in her diversity, Hon. Aguanah used the occasion to appealed to herdsmen to rear their animal peacefully without destroying crops,farm lands and should not engage in vices and conflict with their host communities.
Hon. Aguanah disclosed that his led administration will not subscribe, accommodate and tolerate any act that will destabilize or disorganize the existing peace in Patani Council Area.
Hon. Aguanah said ” to avoid banditry, kidnapping and other crime in our locality, let us all be our neighbor keepers by being watchful and report any suspected criminal element in our locality to constituted authorities. It is not the job of government alone. I ask all citizens to support and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious character and activities to law enforcement agencies. We can only have a safe Country if we are able to prevent crime not after the crime has been committed.”
The Council Boss appealed to all and sundry to reciprocate the supreme sacrifice paid by the dead soldiers and ex-service men as well as to honour the incapacitated soldiers and their dependants by upholding and enhancing the noble course for which they fought and lost their lives. That any action calculated or circulated to destabilize the peace and unity of our great Country Nigeria, is not only disservice but also the height of ingratitude to the fallen heroes.
Early in his speech, the Chairman of Nigerian Legion Patani Council Area Chapter, Navy Commander Babodor Lawrence (Rtd) appealed to all to donate generously toward the care of fallen heroes widows.
While commending the monthly support from Hon. Isaac Aguanah led administration, he appealed for a increase in the monthly subvention due to the prevailing economic circumstances and to replace their uniforms.
In his sermon during the inter-denomination open air service, Rev. Victor Ebipade Okporu said the way and manner ex-service men are treated in Nigeria is very poor and that those in the position of authority should be honest so that the Country can move forward.
Highpoints of the occasion was the laying of wreath, 21 gun shot, inspection of guard and a minute silent for the fallen heroes.
