Supervisors in Delta State Local Government Councils have be urged to ensure the MORE agenda of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is implement at the grassroots to improve the livelihood of the people.
The Executive Chairman to Udu Council Area Hon. (Chief) Vincent Oyibode made this appealed while swearing -in Supervisors at Otor-Udu.
While appreciating the leaders and youths of the Council Area for maintaining peace during the end bad governance protest without destroying properties and lose of life, Hon. Oyibode said their actions show sign of maturity, cooperation and understanding.
The Council Boss revealed that his policy trust is to improve the socio economic well being of Udu people by running an inclusive government that cut across political parties, religion and ethnic lines, clean environment, accountable, transparent, welcome constructive criticism and useful ideals that will contribute to good governance in Udu Council Area which should guild the Supervisors.
Hon. Oyibode disclosed that he have consulted far and wide before he selected them to this enviable position and maintain that he is optimistic that their exposure and wealth of experience is needed and timely toward the realization of ensuring the dividend of democracy is actualize at the grassroots.
His words ” the task before us is huge and expectations are high. We have set the goal of building a stronger Udu Council Area predicated on prosperity,peace, progress and unity. It is a lofty aspiration no doubt but one we are capable of achieving through careful planning, prudent spending, commitment to set goals and objectives as well as stringent execution of policies and programmes. You must process to work speedily and do your utmost to justify our confidence in you not only by your conduct but also by your performance in your position. You are expected to be close to people at the grassroots and bring in new ideas and innovations that will help in transforming the Council Area. Also, follow due process in carrying out government programmes, policies and projects. Consult and relate well with those in the department you are assigned to supervise. They are the ones that will guild you”.
Those appointed as Supervisors and sworn-in are Comrade Omoko Vincent Oghenevwegba for Finance, Mr. Opuama Emmanuel Obruche for Youths, Sports and Women Affairs, Evangelist Dokie Andrew for Works , Hon. Shalokpe Freeborn for Environment and Mrs. Benjamin Eseoghene for Agriculture.
Evangelist Dokie thanked the Council Chairman, Hon. Vincent Oyibode and PDP party leader for the the opportunity given them to served and will not disappoint them on the confidence reposed on them.
